Home Exchange or House Exchange is defined as "I stay in your home while you stay in mine". There is no money involved between the home exchange partners.
In the registration form you will be asked for personal information to make sure that you are a Medical Doctor and to secure your anonymity.
The essential information is your email address, which will only be used for other DocHome members and DocHome staff to contact you. Your email address and other personal information will not be used for any other purpose.
It is evident that your email address is valid since that is the only possible way for contacting you.
You can upload, change or remove photos of your home and it’s surroundings at any time.
You will be given a unique reference number for every published object on DocHome website.
When you have finished the application procedure, you can immediately start contacting other members. The only responsibility of DocHome is to maintain an on-line database of its members and provide the strictly limited information about published objects and their owners. The information held in the database is provided by the members, and DocHome makes no warranty, either expressed or implied, about the information provided. DocHome reserve the right to update the information in the listings or delete one. The entire contents of the database and web-site are Copyright of DocHome . All rights reserved. No parts of this web-site or associated documentation and data may be reproduced in any form without written permission from DocHome.
DocHome is a website and for doctors only. However, DocHome do not offer any guarantee that the member is a Medical Doctor and make no warranty that the Exchanger will find an home exchange with a compatible Exchange Partner, and that a home exchange will result. DocHome will regulary check that the information available are correct and that the member is a Medical Doctor.
The annual membership fee is free!
It is not possible for DocHome to inspect the home of Exchangers registered with it. DocHome don't accept any responsibility or liability for the quality, fitness for purpose or state of the Exchange Partner's home, nor can DocHome accept any liability for any damage, accident or injury which might occur to the Exchanger or any member of his family, or any person accompanying the Exchanger to the Exchange Partner's home, or to whom the Exchanger allows access whether as visitor, tradesman or otherwise.
DocHome is not responsible for agreeing the terms and conditions of any agreement between the Exchanger and the Home Exchange Partner, subscribers, or other users of information provided on this web-site. Any such agreement is a matter between the Exchanger and the Home Exchange Partner, whether as to such terms as allowing the Exchanger into the Home Exchange Partner's home, or vice versa, or any accident or damage which may occur to either home or any person occupying or visiting either home during the period of the home exchange, or the giving up of possession at the end of the home exchange.
Only the Exchanger and the Home Exchange Partner are aware of their own particular circumstances and requirements, and accordingly only they can agree terms suitable for their needs and circumstances. DocHome do not accept any responsibility or liability for any agreement between the Exchanger and the Home Exchange Partner. If the Exchanger has any concerns or doubts about, or does not fully understand any term of any agreement or proposed agreement between himself and the Home Exchange Partner the Exchanger should seek professional legal advice about such agreement or proposed agreement.
The Exchanger is solely responsible for ascertaining if the Home Exchange Partner, his family and any persons accompanying him on the home exchange are suitable and trustworthy persons to allow into occupation of the Exchanger's home. The Exchanger is recommended to ask for references if appropriate. DocHome do not accept any responsibility or liability for any acts or omissions of the Exchange Partner, his family and any person accompanying him whilst in occupation of the Exchange Partner's home.
DocHome is not responsible for any damage, crime or accident to or at the Exchanger's home, and the Exchanger is solely responsible for all damage caused by him or his family or anybody accompanying him on a home exchange, or whom the Exchanger allows to enter the Exchange Partner's home whether as visitor, tradesman or otherwise. Accordingly, the Exchanger is strongly recommended to check that he has or obtains adequate insurance for his home, and that the terms of any home insurance policy will provide insurance against all usual risks during the period of the Exchange Partner's occupation of the Exchanger's home. The Exchanger is also strongly recommended to ensure that he has, for himself, his family and anybody accompanying him, adequate third party and public liability insurance for the period of the Exchanger's occupation of the Exchange Partner's home, to provide cover in the event of any damage thereto, or any accident to any person entering or occupying the Exchange Partner's home.
The Exchanger is strongly recommended to obtain adequate travel insurance for the period of the home exchange, to provide cover for the Exchanger, his family and any person accompanying him on the home exchange for all normal travel risks including delay, cancellation, loss or damage to possessions, accident, death or injury including medical expenses, and any duty the Exchanger may owe or possible liability to the Exchange Partner.
If the Exchanger is in doubt about any terms of any agreement with the Exchange Partner or the Exchange Partner's authority to enter into such agreement the Exchanger should seek appropriate legal or other professional advice.
DocHome wishes you some good home exchange experiences and you are always welcome with suggestions for improving the Site and certainly to use the Testimonial part once you made a home exchange.
These Terms and Conditions of individual membership and home swap may be changed from time to time by DocHome at its sole discretion.
Fundamental Principals
- Only doctors (MD) may become members
- Member must be fair and honest in all his dealings with DocHome and other Members and in particular and without prejudice to the generality of the preceding words; a Member must ensure that his home offered for exchange is fully and accurately described and illustrated on his listing;
- a Member must ensure any Negotiation with other Members is conducted in good faith with an intent of Home Exchange/rental and that he is open, truthful, fair and reasonable in all such Negotiations;
- a Member must be courteous and hospitable in all his dealings with other Members and must be responsive to all reasonable requests.
- Member may not act in a manner that brings DocHome into disrepute.
Cancellation
DocHome is not responible for any costs or other problems related to a cancellation
Complaints
- If Complaints are made against a member it is up to DocHome to cancel the membership
Member's Offer Home
- Member must ensure that his home offered for exchange is available for exchange;
- is fully insured for fire, theft, burglary and, so far as is possible, accidental damage;
- is clean; and
- contains all the facilities described in his listing.
Motor Vehicles
- Member must ensure that any vehicle offered for exchange is in good working order, legally compliant and, except as is notified to and agreed with the exchanging Member, comprehensively insured.
Respect for Property
- Members must ensure that they respect each others' Property at all times and in particular and without prejudice to the generality of the preceding words; Members must ensure that they keep the Exchange Property reasonably secure at all times and comply with the terms of any applicable insurance policies both in this respect and in respect of any other insurance condition communicated to them by the owner;
- Members must accept responsibility for any uninsured damage caused by them to the Exchanged Property.
Pets
- Members must ensure that any Pets are, so far as is possible, free of vermin including worms and fleas, vaccinated and otherwise free of health risk and clean. Members must also ensure that areas of the home to which pets have access are cleaned.
- Members must apply high standards of care to Pets.
Home Country
- Member must register on the Database under his Home Country. A Member may list a second or third home or holiday home situated outside his Home Country.
Currency of Listing
- Member is responsible for ensuring that his listing is kept current and up to date.
Use of Database
- Member may use the Database for the purpose of negotiating Home Exchange and for no other purpose. A Member contravening this Rule is subject to immediate termination at the discretion of the DocHome.
Confidentiality
- Member shall keep confidential at all times all information obtained on the Database and all other information obtained from Members.
Responsibility for negotiations
- Members accept that they are solely responsible for all negotiations for Home Exchange with other Members.
Fees
- There is no fee to become a member at DocHome
Definitions
- "Complaint" means a complaint made by a Member to DocHome.
- Database" means the DocHome database operated at the domain names DocHome.net, DocHome.com and DocHome.org and any other domains on which the Database may be maintained from time to time.
- "Exchanged Property" means any Property which Members have agreed to exchange and which is occupied or used during the exchange and in particular and without prejudice to the generality of these words Property that is the subject of a Home Exchange Agreement.
- "Home Country" means the country of normal residence (at least six months per year) of a Member in which his principal home is situated.
- "Home Exchange" means the process of exchanging homes for vacation or holiday purposes or of providing rental, hospitality or other services facilitated from time to time on the Database.
- "Home Exchange Agreement" means an agreement for Home Exchange in Standard Form entered into by Members and Notified to DocHome.
- "Member" means a member of DocHome who has registered a listing on the Database.
- "Negotiation" means any negotiation conducted orally, by email or in writing.
- "Notified" and "Notification" means in relation to a Home Exchange Agreement notification of such Agreement to DocHome
- "Pet" means a dog, cat or other pet and includes any animal or bird that might occupy a Member's property, garden or surroundings.
- "Property" includes homes, vehicles and all other forms of Members' property.
- "Rule" means a rule or clause of these terms of use and this agreement.
- "Standard Form" means the standard form of Home Exchange Agreement provided by DocHome.
- References to the plural include references to the singular and vice versa.
- References to any gender include references to all other genders.
- Headings are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of any Rule.
DocHome exchange service may only be used for individual home exchange (doctors home swap) or rental purposes. When a member joins DocHome and uses the database, he agrees not to contact other members of DocHome for any other purpose than to arrange a personal home exchange. Anyone who contacts DocHome members for any other purpose than to arrange a personal home exchange will be immediately barred from DocHome.
All listings posted on the DocHome web site may not under any circumstance be posted on another web site or in any other media for any purposes.
By joining DocHome exchange service, you agree that any home exchange, hospitality offer or rental transaction you arrange is between you and the other party. You agree that neither DocHome nor any of its affiliates bear any responsibility for the arrangement and it's completely up to you to find the right partner.
Protection of your Personal Information
DocHome exchange service is committed to protecting your privacy. We provide this notice to explain our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way information is collected and used. We will only use the information we collect for the purposes of enhancing your DocHome online service experience. At no time will we sell, trade, rent or disclose your personal information to third parties unless we have obtained consent to such use.
Security of your Personal Information
Any personal information we collect will be stored in our secure database. The information published in the database for each listing has been provided by members either directly online or through DocHome and can be modified by the member at any time, according to database procedure.
As a DocHome member, you may occasionally receive e-mail updates from us, including newsletters, special offers we think you will find valuable, important changes to the functionality of the Web site, and new DocHome services. These e-mail communications may be sent or personalized based on information you provide on the DocHome database. You may, at any time, decline to receive e-mail notifications by changing the personal settings on your member page, or simply by clicking on “unsubscribe” link in any of the email messages you receive from us.
IP Addresses and Links
IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information, and DocHome does not use those for tracking purposes.
